Educational modality

In-presence

This modality implies the simultaneous presence of the actors involved in the teaching-learning process. It can be conducted at CIESS headquarters or those of other institutions.

At distance

A modality where knowledge is basically built through printed didactic material, designed to be used in an independent manner under the support of a tutor assigned by CIESS. The electronic mail is a necessary communication tool for the development of the course, while the Internet is a support resource. Participants send their individual or group exercises to their tutor, so that it is possible to evaluate the achievement of their particular learning objectives. Academic progress and knowledge acquired are evaluated through the presentation of a final work in the presence of academic authorities, at regional headquarters according to the group configuration.

As part of the at distance modality, it is also possible to conduct certain activities through the Internet as the principal means for sharing didactic materials and communicating, as opposed to the formerly described activities. Hence, participants are required to have regular and personal access to the Internet.

Blended learning

This modality combines in-presence teaching qualities with at-distance education features. The in-presence stage lasts one or two weeks. It may be conducted at CIESS headquarters or those of other institution; the activity contemplates field visits and group workshops while also emphasizing exchange activities based on the at-distance work conducted.

The economic activities and educational modalities being mentioned here, do not exclude the conduction of other activities such as debates, videoconferences and symposiums.
